Summary and Suggestions
After joining this program for around 1 month, it was the time for me to say goodbye to NSTRU and Satit Demonstration school. These are the conclusions from the evaluation.
Purpose of Practicum
I have memorable experience for joining this SEA-Teacher Project Batch 7th. Through this exchange program, I am given a chance to improve my teaching skills with different students that exactly have differents culture and perspective, practice my English communication skill, making a lot memorable experience with friends other countries, and also gain a broader world view, that others country have their beautiful side. It has turned me more open-minded person as I always try my best to understand the differences between Indonesia and Thailand in many aspects including in the teaching process, language, behavior, culture and even religion.
Procedures of Practicum
I conducted this exchange program for around one month. There were at least five main activities that I had to do. The first was the orientation day. This was the day where we first met all the participants, mentors, and lecturers from the host university. In this day, we were introduced to our mentor and being told our practicum school as well. The next main activity is classroom observation. It was conducted in the first week of the practicum. Then, there were also teaching assistance and teaching practice in the second and the third week. Finally, the last week was the evaluation.
Outcomes of Practicum
I got an opportunity to improve my teaching skills as I was conducting my teaching practices. I could practice my English communication skill as well since English was the only language that I understood during my stay in Thailand. Finally, for my first experience going abroad, I learned a little about Thai language and Thai culture managed to share some Indonesia’s culture as well, and give a courage my self to try and try and do the best for my life.
The Challenges of Practicum
I have several challenges or problem during stay in Thailand due to I am the only Indonesia student here, so I have to more addapt with the surrounding. But, all of those were still as basic problems of someone who study abroad and live in other place which is not our place. One of them is the different language. Most of Thai people can’t understand English that well, although they can, they have this kind of weird accent that made me hard to catch what they were talking about. So, I had to double check by saying “pardon me?” or use google translate or other dictionary, and calculator (when we buy food or shopping), so many times just to make sure what they just said. It was a little hard to communicate with them. And I would say that thai people is really kind. This also motivate me to learn a little of Thai language. There were also the time where I can eat Thai foods because I can found easier halal food but sometimes I didn’t really into Thai foods (because some Thai food are too sour for me) and some kind of culture shock as well. These challenges taught me to push beyond my limits to keep learning, have an open mind, be more respectful to differences and give my self to try and try and do the best for my life.
Overall Impression
I am forever grateful to be given the privilege to join this SEA-Teacher Project Batch 7th in Thailand especially for NSTRU and Satit Demonstration School . It is a good starting point for me to develop myself in so many aspects. There is no split second of my life I spent regretting to have joined this exchange program. I couldn’t say thank you so much to SEAMEO, UNIPMA, NSTRU and Satit Demonstration School for chance, experience become one of the lucky participant to join this program.
Suggestion for Future Improvement
I suggest the committees to give clearer instruction about the self-report (blog writing) so that there will be no miscommunication. And also about the detail of 20 hour it is only for teaching or for other stage too.

Teaching Practice In Satit Demonstration School
Procedures of teaching
Procedures of teaching
Here I will tell about my Teaching Practice for two weeks.
First Week (21 – 25 January 2019)
Finally, It’s time for me to teach at EP 2. I really nervous because during I observe and help teacher Ben to handle the class while mid-term, I found that EP 2 is noisy class. And I really hope that they will like me. My Class started in Tuesday 22 January 2019, because on Monday Teacher Ben had Evaluation from the school. The first day I teach, the students were still noisy but they can follow my lesson and instruction and I am really happy. Next days with a seem hope and I already prepare power point and funny video to teach them but I failed the students were very noisy I can’t handle them and they don’t want to listen to me and also teacher Ben I just handle them for 20 minute. Third Day I teach EP 2 was same like the first day. Because yesterday I can't handle them well, so today I will teach them well. Today my class not like yesterday, but still noisy. I am really thankful. Today students read conversation in the book and try to make sentences using have and don't have in the store. Like 'I have candy' ' I don't have juice'. And at fourth days I will give my students grammar about 'some and any', my mentor also help me to teach them and make them more understand. Then, continue with making some sentences using 'some and any' and last do write activity to make sure the students understand or not.
Second Week (28 – 01 January 2019)
My second week I teach at EP 2. I have class at 2 pm. In the first day in second week, I have new topic for teaching, I will teach about food and snacks that include in carbohydrate or food that give energy. I give matching games, so the students have to match the food with the note that already provide and also guessing picture, and class end by watching fun video together. For second days, I started the lesson by reviewing about our previous lesson and then continue play a video that relate with our discussion. I would discuss about food that help to grow (protein) or a part of meat. After watch the video we discuss together about the video. And I also give some question to them for students that get correct answer I will give a sticker. princess disney for girl and superheroes for boy and they more motivated. Ya, even though they always shout to get more stickers. Third days, at 11 pm My class started. I started the lesson by reviewing about our previous lesson, then play video and discuss together. At the last time I give a picture to students and ask them to color it. And they do it well. At fourth days Our activities today in EP 2 is work in pair. Because EP 2 has 15 students, so they will have 7 group. It is good to see that they are working altogether even though some find it hard, but at least they are trying to do their best. After they finish their work group we continuing do their new workbook.
Time management and organizing activities
The teaching time was 60 minutes. Five minutes for warmer (opening and brainstorming), fifty minutes for main activities and presentation, and another five minutes for closing. I started by asking them some questions related to the topic , continued to explaining the materials carefully, giving them examples, engaging them to the learning process by asking the answer of some questions, doing exercises by asking them to come forward one by one, and letting them to work in pair for the evaluation.
Problem-solving
My first problem, I would like to say that classroom management and some students that really noisy. How teacher handle the classroom is very important while teaching in the class. When my first time teach at EP 2, my big problems is how to manage my class and students attitude. So, I ever failed for teach them. To solve this problem in every meeting I I have more than one Instructional Material. So, the students can be active in learning. And for the that really noisy. Teacher can give simple example for the students like if students are too noisy as much as possible for the teacher to avoid shouting at students. Because with the teacher shouting, besides draining emotion, of course it indirectly teaches students that they can shout in the class. And also give praise to every activity that is properly done by the students.
Second, actually is my english still not good, so the solutions are : I prepare whatwill I do in the next day by writing in a piece of paper, so I can read it beforeI teach at the class. I must study hard and learn, learn and learn. Third, when we teach, some students can not understand well, so I must ask the students one by one, or I go to their seat and ask their problems.
Classroom management
As a teacher in the class, remember all student’s name in the class is one way to make us feel closer to the students, so we can control them one by one. When we teach at the class, please have a good eye contact to all students also. When they have a problem, we can go to their seat and ask their problems. And, when we want to divide the students into a group, we must control them so they can focus to solve a problem with their group. Also, have a good communication with the students.
My EP 2 Students
